Coalport Commemorative Buildwas Abbey Loving Cup
Nice early 19th century large Coalport loving cup with puce printed scene of Buildwas on one side and personalised initials in gilt within a decorative frame of grape vine and ears of barley on the other. The shaped strap handle with inner spur has gilded decoration down the back and to the terminals and the rim and foot are also gilded. This design often has the Ironbridge on one side. Unmarked, dated c.1825-1835, reference: Godden, Coalport & Coalbrookdale Porcelains, plate 171.
It measures 21cm (8 1/4") wide across the handles, 11.8cm (4 5/8") across the base and 11.8cm (4 5/8") high. It weighs 635g.
Condition is good there is a crack around the bottom of one handle and a very small chip as part of it. The rest of the handle is fine, it has not been repaired. No other issues and surface wear is very light. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
