Chinese Porcelain Scholar's Object - Circa 1840
Chinese porcelain article from the scholar's table - probably a wrist / pen rest. The thick porcelain has an unglazed scalloped edge. Both top and base are glazed, with top decorated in famille rose enamels. Very fine detail visible due to master painting skills. Believe to date from the Daoguang period - circa 1840.
Old collection label on base - Christiaani Collection. Condition: No repairs. Hairline and tiny chips on rear edge.
