Chinese porcelain moulded underglaze blue salt pot dating from the Kangxi/Yongzheng period - early 18th Century. A fairly unusual form, it would have been made in two parts, with the top attached to the base before firing. Made for an export market but decorated in Chinese taste with a ruyi cloud collar around the moulded rim and then repeated around the foot. Meandering foliage decorate the stem and top of the pot.
Condition: a tiny chip and very fine hairline on the foot. Some fritting on the rim. Otherwise good condition.
