Chinese Miniature Teapot With Slip Decoration
This is an exquisite Chinese miniature teapot in a pale blue glaze with slip decoration depicting two mandarin ducks among lily pads and flowers, circa 1900.
The detail and translucency of the white slip decoration is a joy to behold. It predominantly occupies one side of the teapot with the other side simply bearing a lily bud on a long stalk emerging from a cluster of small leaves. The lid is also decorated with an arrangement of small leaves. The handle and spout have a knobbly design like a tree trunk. There is an impressed mark to the base comprising a number of Chinese characters set within a square.
Dimensions: Width 13 x Depth 7 x Height 8.5 cm
Condition: The teapot is in perfect condition without damage. There is some minor staining from its use as a teapot.
Postage & packing: £7.50 within the UK. Please contact us for a quote if you would like it sent overseas.
