Caughley Porcelain Fluted Slop Bowl Dresden Flower
A very nice Caughley porcelain fluted slop bowl with scalloped rim, c.1785-1790, with external "Dresden flowers" decoration in underglaze blue with the addition of gilding (likely having been outsourced to the Chamberlain factory for the gilding). The inside rim has a wide blue band with gilded bird's eye border, gilded conjoined dotted border and gilded rim. Blue 'S' mark under the base. A good size, very useful for many purposes.
It measures 15cm (fractionally under 6") wide and 7.5cm (2 7/8") high. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Light surface wear, mainly inside with some wear to the gilding to a flower device inside the base, rubbing to the gilding on the rim and a little here and there to the borders, very little outside. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
