This rare Russian sculpture is finely modelled in heavy cast iron, a medium favoured by Russian artists and foundries. It dates to circa 1930 and has a full cast signature on the underside. It cleverly depicts a Russian hunting spaniel alert and working with his master to flush out game from the undergrowth. This very pleasing sculpture is in excellent condition and has a natural dark pleasing patina.
