A fantastic 19th-century continental (probably Italian), Baroque-style plaster of Paris sculpture of a Winged dragon. This very well-executed plaster-of-Paris sculpture is very similar in style and taste to the "HVAR’S BEAST" (16th century Venetian School, carved wooden dragon from the galley San Girolamo, Franciscan Monastery, Hvar, Croatia). Condition This plaster-of-Paris Dragon is in remarkably good condition with only minor losses in some areas. There are a few historical repairs but the sculpture is structurally sound and does not detract from the splendidness of the piece.
