Circa 1880, very stylish carved oak hall bench, with a simple open slatted back and a shaped seat. The ends are wonderfully carved with scrolling foliate and oak leaves and the outside also has rosette studs. The bench stands on a set of three sturdy legs which have cross stretchers and a solid base to them. The bench is polished on all sides and is freestanding. The carving is similar to the style used by Sir Robert Lorimer.
