Carved French oak Breton bed
This lovely french carved oak bed is offered in very good condition.
The bed is a very good example of the Breton style antique furniture, and normally referred to as a marriage bed.
The bed has a headboard with an ornately carved pediment, and a carved cherubs head.
The footboard has 3 stunning panels depicting the meeting of a couple, their wedding day and the couple in their later years.
The side rails also have ornately carved detailing with spindles and floral carving.
The bed has four turned oak columns with large finials.
The bed is very sturdy and comes with a newly fitted set of substantial bed slats.
The bed will accommodate either a standard double mattress 1400 mm wide x 1900mm long within the side rails or a bespoke mattress kingsize with 1500 mm wide x 1900 mm long on top of the side rails. We can offer bespoke mattresses at very competitive prices.
