C18th Georgian Spindle-Back Windsor Armchair
This lovely windsor armchair dates from c.1780, although it may be a little earlier. It is of lovely rustic construction, and is constructed from solid wood, probably beech and elm, although please note that we are not 100% sure of the wood types. The chair has a rounded back with spindle supports, rounded arms, a shaped seat, and is supported on turned legs with rounded stretchers in between.
Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. The chair has some scuffing, nicking and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, and this lends the piece a lovely patina. There are some signs of repair in places. The chair is solid with only minimal movement in the joints. A lovely antique country piece. There are some signs of old woodworm in places - this is not active, but has been retreated as a precaution.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 98cm high, 60.5cm wide, 45cm deep (to maximums) 43cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
