Large English Writing Bureau - Fine Colour - c1760

This English Georgian writing bureau is a pleasingly constructed piece displaying wonderful lightness of tone to the mahogany and benefiting from yew crossbanding and desirable veneer to the fall front.

Offering classic proportions and stunning colour this large bureau rises from bracket feet, united by a serpentine skirt, through four full width drawers, into the fall front which opens to reveal a well fitted interior. The long drawers provide ample storage space, strong dovetails, oval lions mask back-plate drop loop handles, and fine veneer with yew and ebony stringing.

A fall front opens to reveal a generous leather skiver, both embossed and gilt tooled, and quality fitted interior with a central cupboard door flanked by drawers and cubbies.

A perfect example of practicality and good design with traditional craftsmanship delivering a piece which will make a fine feature in any home.

Overall this lovely piece of antique furniture is in good antique condition offering great patina. A classic English antique bureau with huge charm, history and warmth.
