Builder's half hull for Lochee

A very fine boat builder's half-hull model on a mahogany mount for the vessel Lochee. The name is picked out in gold paint on the bow, along with other very fine, restrained detail of rope ports etc.
This really is a very fine example of the boat builder's model, and we have a print out of the full history of the ship as well as an image of her (in S Australia). She was launched in August 1874 as a four masted passenger/ cargo ship by Alexander Stephen & Sons of Dundee. Her first owner was from Dundee but after 20+ years she was sold and underwent two name changes, finally being broken up November 1929.
In 1882 she set, a record she still holds, the sailing vessel record of 90 days from Calcutta to Dundee.
She is 70cms long and about 20cms high, maximum (inc backing board)
The price here for this very good half-hull model includes UK delivery, by courier consignment. My shop at 1 Bridge St, Dulverton TA22 9HJ is open
1030 - 5pm Tues-Sat, and by appointment
