Brynmawr Furniture Makers oak wardrobe
Cotswold style oak fitted wardrobe made by the Brynmawr Furniture Makers originally limed but this has warn of and now been polished to a pleasing warm oak colour. It bears the Brynmawr metal label showing it was designed by Paul Matt.
The Brynmawr factory was founded by Quakers to give work to unemployed miners and only lasted for a short period between 1929 - 1940. During this short time they produced some beautiful antique furniture.
This wardrobe is 177cms high, 112cms wide and 53cms deep.
Most of this wardrobe is oak but the back is oak veneer.
Condition - Good with no damage. The locks do not work but the doors stay closed perfectly without locking. There are some historic worm holes to the back veneer which have been treated though were long dead. These did not come through to the interior of the robe which is in excellent condition with fitted drawers to one side and a shoe rack to the base of the hanging section. This is an excellent price compared to similar ones on offer at present but space is needed!
My apologies for the poor images - weather against me! PLEASE NOTE, RED HOUSE ANTIQUES HAS NOW RETIRED.
No items listed will be for sale, but the sold items have been left up as a reference.
