A massive and imposing late 19th Century meat dish or oval platter from Brown Westhead Moore & Co.

Very well fashioned, with integral drainer and a recessed juice / gravy collection bowl.

Beautifully decorated in deep cobalt flow blue transfer printing in the high Art Nouveau - Arts & Crafts pattern known as 'Teutonic', featuring scrolling foliate and heart-shaped motifs.

Measuring a goliath 50.5 cms x 37.5 cms x 6.5cms.

Fully marked to the underside.

A rare piece, much less frequently seen than the smaller variants.

In used / vintage condition, free from major faults. The upper surface / face is excellent with minimal wear. The rim edge, underside / points of contact show some signs of rubbing/wear, as is to be expected. The shaped foot is good and free from the kind of damage which so often inflict these pieces.

All in all, an excellent example.
