A quality heavy cast 19th. cent. bronze bas-relief of a section of the Athens Frieze. Possibly by the Barbedienne foundry. Dimensions of the plaque are 21 x 31 cms. excl. the frame and 42.5 x34 cms. overall. In a red velvet and gilt border within an ebonised antique frame. A sharply defined cast with a part Greek inscription featuring John Henning who produced numerous reproductions of the Elgin Marbles. Excellent condition and good patination. Preferred method of payment is by bank transfer (UK faster payment or to our €Euro account) which incurs no additional costs or charges.
