Breakfront Marquetry Credenza Bookcase
Very elegant late 19th century English breakfront credenza in figured walnut with original brass mounts and a black lacquered top, circa 1880 and in good condition.
This is a lovely slim credenza but offers good storage space within the central marquetry panelled door which is flanked by two glass fronted cupboard spaces. There is a central fixed shelf and the interior is fully lined with a vintage red velvet (this can be changed if it is not right for you).
Great decorative piece and good for display with room for a pair of lamps and a central mirror or picture to hang above…could also make a good drinks cabinet too.
Measuring:
41 1/2 inches or 105.5 cm high
65 1/2 inches or 166.5 cm maximum width
14 1/2 inches or 37 cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
