Borman Farm Wisconsin Geoffrey Jenkinson 1960
we have for sale a very well executed water colour painting by the excellent Yorkshire/North American artist Geoffrey Jenkinson entitled "The Borman Farm New Holstein Wisconsin.
This large watercolour painting depicts a rural North American scene looking across harvested and ploughed fields towards farm buildings in the distance. The painting is signed towards the bottom right by Geoffrey Jenkinson and dated 1960. The artist also wrote the title of the painting on its reverse in pencil. The painting was been re-framed such that a panel in the back allows the hand written painting title to be viewed.
The painting measures 26.75 inches (68cm) by 21 inches (53cm) including the frame and is in an excellent condition having just been re-framed in a good quality gilt frame.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Geoffrey Jenkinson, 1925-2006 was a landscape artist. He was born in Leeds, studied at Pudsey Technical College and exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists and The Royal Cambrian Academy. He studied painting at Keighley Art College where he was taught by Frederick Cecil Jones. He moved to the United States in the 1950s where he became a member of the Arizona Artists Guild, but made several trips back to Yorkshire where he also painted local scenes.
