Biedermeier desk.
Here I have a wonderful quality flamed mahogany Biedermiere desk circa 1860/70.
This charming piece of furniture is in excellent condition.
The drop-down front reveals a very well-fitted secretaire with drawers and a center cabinet and a pull-out writing slide that has a turned mahogany gallery.
The base has 3 drawers flanked by barley twist columns which go all up the side of the dropdown front.
Above the secretaire are 2 more drawers and topped off by turned mahogany finials.
North European probably Swedish.
It stands 5 feet tall.
3 feet 8 inches wide.
2 feet deep.
