This is a beautiful Japanese Satsuma dish dating from the Meiji era, c.1890. The dish is very finely hand-painted in the typical Satsuma palette of bronze, coral, greens etc with gilding and shows a beautiful pheasant sat among prunus and bamboo with lots of colourful chrysanthemum blooms. The dish is signed to the base and is in perfect condition, it measures 25cm in diameter.
