This is a beautiful silkwork embroidery which is signed by the embroiderer and dated 1918. The embroidery is wonderfully worked in silks and has Parakeets in flowers and foliage in pretty pastel shades. The work is finely executed and nicely displayed within a most decorative and unusual shield shaped gilt frame. The embroidered itself is in excellent condition (some ageing to the silk backing as per the age) and is a good size measuring 68 cms by 50 cms overall including the frame.
