This beautiful French tapestry, titled “Le Berger” (The Shepherd), is a handwoven reproduction of a 16th-century original preserved in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Title: Le Berger (The Shepherd)

Origin: Handwoven in France (atelier reproduction)

Design: Medieval pastoral scene with shepherd, flock of sheep, dog, village, and lush floral background

Label: Original atelier label on reverse, numbered exemplar (No. 88)

Date: Mid-20th century reproduction (c. 1950s–70s)

Condition: Very good vintage condition with expected light signs of age/use (see photos)

Size: 131 x 96 cm

A wonderful decorative wall hanging in the Flemish style, combining artistry and history. These French woven reproductions are collectible in their own right and bring Old World character to any interior.
