Arts and Crafts Oak Monks Bench

We have for sale a very decorative and usefully sized quartered oak arts and crafts monks bench.
This very striking monks bench is great for storage and consists of a paneled box with a hinged lid extending to decorative arms and a paneled front and back panels decorated with gothic inspired moldings incorporating an arch with Tudor roses. This being a monks bench, the back panel flips over onto the arms thus converting the bench into a table. The upper back left hand corner support of the box carries the number 4183. This may be a Registered Design Number, in which case the design dates from the 1883. However, the monks bench feels more like an Edwardian piece.
The monks bench is 42 inches (107cm) wide, 37.5 inches (95cm) high and 19.5 inches (49cm) deep. The monks bench is in a very good condition other than the surface wear one would in a piece of arts and crafts period oak antique furniture.
