A 19th Century Arts and Crafts Oak and Mahogany Library Table, Boardroom Table


This large sturdy table has an interesting history, the base of the table is an arts and crafts piece it has 6 sturdy Oak legs and 2 H stretchers with 4 shaped drawers along each side

The original top would probably have been in Oak, but it has been replaced with an early mahogany top, which is accompanied by an etched brass plaque which says

“ THE MAHOGANY TOP OF THIS TABLE CAME FROM THE SECRETAN-JANSON BOX AT LLOYDS THE ROYAL EXCHANGE, LONDON”

There are also smaller brass name plates at the top of the legs

It is a superb and very heavy piece and would work very well as a boardroom table or slightly quirky dining room piece
The table is very sturdy in good sound condition with very little signs of age, this is a very heavy table The table is 96” long, 33” wide, 32” high and 27” under knee (a good size or those with very long legs)
