Superb quality Arts & Crafts buffet by Shapland & Petter of Barnstaple c1900. Constructed of quarter sawn oak with the top surfaces and drawer front being burr oak. Carved foliate detail to the top with shaped supports over a long drawer, galleried back and sides on turned supports, carved foliate detail to the cupboard door panels and stands on original casters. Registration number to the back. The brass handles are hand beaten with a heart shape, working locks with key and the locks are stamped S&PB.
The quality of this piece is fantastic, and it is in excellent original condition, no damage or repairs.

Our stock items are carefully selected by myself and I only buy good quality items which may need small repairs, a clean and a polish. I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
