Art Deco walnut triple compactum wardrobe
This triple wardrobe is wonderful. It dates to the 1930s and is high end Art Deco in design and would have cost an absolute fortune when it was first new in pre war Britain. Just look at the shape of this wardrobe. The front is serpentine, but wow, how it is serpentined! The outside doors are convex and the central door is concave. The doors have opulent figured walnut fronts with a angular motif at the top of the central door. The wardrobe stands on a shaped base with bracket feet.
Inside, the wardrobe is beautifully fitted. It has a double hanging section with chrome rails and hooks and a shelf above and shoe rails beneath. It also has a side cupboard with rail for shirts and beneath a graduated chest of drawers in mahogany with brass handles and a full length plate glass mirror behind the door. This is a beautiful wardrobe.
The wardrobe is in good condition. Very minor marks from age and usage as you would expect. The walnut is opulent and polished. The wardrobe will hold a lot of clothes and will be a pleasure to dress from.
The wardrobe will look good in an Art Deco setting where design and opulence is all. This is such quality though that it could happily sit in an antique or modernist setting.
The wardrobe splits for ease of moving.
The wardrobe is 61 inches wide and 76.5 inches high and 22.5 inches deep.
