This is an antique wine bottle cooler. A Chinese, ceramic blue and white decorative ice bucket or planter, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Of generous proportion and traditional blue and white decor - suitable for 4-5 bottles
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
White ceramic ground beneath a quality glaze finish
Decorated throughout, with Oriental motif and fish
Scallop shell carry handles with a cobalt blue finish
Small figures frolic amongst buildings, plants and butterflies
Rim decorated with diamond border, the interior replete with fish and seaweed detail
Pleasingly substantial in the hand, with a weight of 5.52kg (12.17 lb)
