This is a Superior Quality Victorian Mahogany Dressing table or Dressing Chest c1880-1900. A great example of an imcreasingly rare design. It is raised on castors and has a plinth base with two columns of drawers with 4 four graduated drawers in each bank. To the the cnetre is an undershelf with central vanity drawer in the middle. The top has a pair of brackets supporting the mirror each with a drawer in it. All of the handles and fittings are original. The drawers are inlaidd with satinwood and boxwood inlay. The bevel edge mirror is surmounted with an ornate cornice.
