This substantial French fruitwood trestle table is the embodiment of form following function. Its’ substantial panelled slab top accommodates 8-10 people. It rests upon four turned pillar supports, which rise from elegantly acanthus carved feet. A particularly fine example, it’s simplicity and scale work well in a variety of settings. These “trestle tables” remain popular as they lack the limitations of restrictive leg configurations and table high aprons, and suit many seating options, from traditional Windsor chairs to contemporary upholstered seating.
