This is a Mid Victorian lignum vitae string dispenser with a fabulous colour and patination. It was turned from both heart and sap wood which has provided the contrasting tones in colour. The top of barrel section is threaded to take the lid. It comes with a vintage ball of twine.

It was acquired from the same collection as the lignum vitae tobacco jar which is also listed but has now sold.

Condition: It is in very good antique condition. There are stable shrinkage cracks - one in the centre of the base and a few small ones around the lip of the lid.
