Antique Three-Fold Screen with Pressed Card Panels
This attractive three-fold screen dates from c.1900. It has an oak frame with roundel decoration around the front edges. The screen has what we believe to be pressed card panels with raised gilt-painted rococco-style decoration on a green-painted background. The panels are backed with plain green painted canvas-backed card.
Condition Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition, but does have some wear consistent with age and use. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected, which is heavy in places, and the piece is overall a little faded. There is some wear to the paintwork on the front and back and some damage, holing and wear to the card. The card panels also have some creasing and may have been touched up or repainted in places at some point. There is some loss to the backing of one of he card panels. There is some splitting to one of the wooden triangular tops of the screen.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 168cm high
Each Panel - 57.5cm wide (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
