This is an antique thread counter. An English, brass industrial instrument by John Nesbitt of Manchester, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Delightfully tactile instrument with fascinating articulation
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Brass presents warm golden tones throughout, with striking engine turning to base
Annotated scales to both edges, with position needle
Device scrolls upon an internal screw, turned with knurled vernier wheel
