This is an antique scroll arm desk chair. An English, mahogany armchair with needlepoint upholstery, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820.
Sinuous, scrolled forms and appealing colour
Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Rich green upholstery with needlepoint bouquet decoration, traditionally stuffed
Bowed top rail with rolled edge sits above distinctive broad scrolled arms
Square front apron set between a pair of chamfered shoulders
Standing upon tapering front legs with baluster turned knee
Swept rear legs a serpentine flourish from the back rail
