We have for sale this antique Rosewood X frame stool. Having X frame supports and carved scroll feet, adjoined by turned stretcher rail. The carving is crisp and well-defined. All joints are firm and the stool is strong and sturdy.

When this stool arrived it was covered in thick white gloss paint and covered in a yellow damask fabric. Our in house restorer has painstakingly removed all the white paint and french polished the rosewood back to its former beauty. It has been given a finishing coat of wax.

The original inset horse hair seat has been recovered first in fire-retardant wadding and calico then finished in a vintage furnishing linen. Jonelle Duracolour "Sherborne" Linen Union. A painted old style roses pattern in muted pinks and reds on antique gold background. The stool is believed to be English, Circa 1870s.
