This is an attractive English oval gilt and gesso overmantel dating from around 1880. The mirror has a Rococo style foliate pediment and a very pretty pierced trellis style panel below with floral and foliate decoration. The glass is the original bevelled glass and the gilding has a good warm colour. A very pretty piece and rare to find in such good condition, this measures 117 cms wide by 77 cms high.
