This is an antique nest of three occasional side antique tables. An Oriental, Chinese Elm trio in Japanned taste, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Charming example of the Victorian Oriental taste
Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout - sun fade present to top table
Chinese elm presented with a Japanned lacquer finish
Hand decorated with fine gilt paint detailing throughout

Each top depicts traditional Oriental scenes inhabited by birds of paradise
Mother of pearl inlay shimmers in the catch-light
The trio nest in a smooth stacking manner
Raised upon splayed legs with stretcher rails to the side and rear

This is an appealing antique nest of three occasional side tables. Bold in their Japanned taste, each table presents well when stacked or individually. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed, polished and ready for use.
