This is an antique metamorphic console table. An English, mahogany fold-over 4 seat dining or bridge table, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.
Superb metamorphic table, serving as a side table and opening up to accommodate four
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good, original order
Select stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Rotating upon the frame through 90 degrees, the table folds open upon brass hinges
In closed form, the traditional console table presents itself as ideal for the hall or study
Folding over the top reveals a wonderful kitchen dining table for four guests
Finally, set within a drawing room, it becomes a fine card table, with generous space for playing a hand
Raised upon a quartet of faceted baluster legs and riding smoothly upon castors
