Antique Lustreware Pottery Jug & Bowl by Scott lustre lustreware jug %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This antique lustreware jug and bowl dates from the 1850s/1860s. Please note that both pieces have had some quite significant restoration at some point. The bowl is impressed to the underneath 'Scott' and we believe it to have been made by Scott of Southwick Pottery in Sunderland. The jug is not stamped, but the two items appear to have always been together. The jug and bowl both make reference to the Crimean War and the sailor's farewell (on the jug) and return (on the bowl). The bowl also features a view of the cast iron bridge over the River Wear built by R. Burdon and opened in 1796. In the centre of the bowl is a scene entitled 'February'. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.

We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.

Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
