Antique Large Heavy Oak Refectory Dining Table
Antique large heavy oak & fruit wood refectory dining table.
Lovely proportions and style.
We think that this table dates from the early 20C (or possibly earlier).
The base is made from lovely solid old oak, wheras the top could be oak or more likely another hardwood (possibly yew or a fruitwood), but is of a similar colour to the base.
The top is 5 large hewn planks, which means it is not perfectly flat. It is smooth, but with very slight undulations and ridges and works well with the rustic nature of the table. There is a gap of 2-3 mm between planks.
The whole of the table is peg jointed.
This piece of antique furniture would look great in the right location, is attractive and aesthetically very pleasing.
Overall dimensions 2920mmL x 1040mmW x 770mmH (615mmH knee hole).
Historical knocks, marks, cracking, repairs and alterations as is usual for antique furniture. The top may be later.
Please note that this table is very heavy, large and in one piece. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide 3 strong able bodied people to assist our driver carrying the table.
