This is an antique joiner's chest. An English, pine craftsman's trunk, dating to the early Victorian period, circa 1850.

Stout chest with Victorian appeal - ideal for use as a coffee table
Displays a desirable aged patina
Dark stained pine with consistent finish throughout
Copious dovetail joints add strength

Hand-painted with the initials T.P.H. to lid and front fascia in crimson red
Braced lid opens smoothly on a pair of long strap brackets
Sliding and removable tool tray sits above the interior
Working, inset brass-lined lock — key present
Dressed with a pair of iron loop handles with shaped backplates
