This is a beautiful large Japanese antique porcelain vase of double gourd shape from the Meiji period, circa 1870. The vase is beautifully hand painted in bold Imari colours decorated with dragon cartouche in ironstone red and hand gilding. This has a very decorative appeal with a great look. The vase has previously been adapted for use as a lamp with a neat hole for the wire at the base so could be used as a lamp again or just enjoyed as a lovely decorative piece on its own.
The vase is substantial in size measuring 32 cms high by in 21 cms diameter.
