Antique Gold Hallmarked Keepsake Locket And Chain
An exceptionally beautiful fully hallmarked antique yellow gold hallmarked keepsake locket which was tested for purity at Chester Assay Office in 1905. This splendid pendant is suspended from an ornate fully hallmarked gold 18 1/2 inch necklace. One side of the locket is embellished with forget-me-nots and roses which symbolise true love and romance. The other side is decorated acanthus leaves which symbolise everlasting life. The shield cartouche represents the desire of the donor to protect the recipient. The catches and hinges work perfectly.
Both of the original portrait frames and card backings are in place. There is also one clear portrait protector present.
