A beautiful heart shaped antique solid gold pendant locket is suspended from an 18 inch 9ct gold necklace.

The stunning Edwardian locket was crafted by the esteemed maker, Sheldon Brothers.

This antique yellow gold locket was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1907.

The heart shape design conveys love, compassion, charity and joy.

The anterior surface is ornamented with a shield shaped cartouche, acanthus leaves and a single forget-me-not flower.

The shield shape symbolises the desire to protect.

Acanthus leaves represent the desire for longevity.

Forget-me-not flowers express the feelings of deep love and respect.

The posterior side is also adorned with acanthus leaves.

One of the interior compartments is fitted with the original gold frame portrait protector.

This antique pendant is suitable to hold two photographs, locks of hair or miniature portraits.

All clasps and hinges work perfectly.
