An outstandingly good Flapper bag in excellent condition. The gorgeous enamel still vibrant, detailed & excellent. Both sides are equally beautiful without any fading. They match perfectly & the same glorious colours to look just like a water colour painting. The frame & chain handle are gilded. There is no loss of colour from the enamel at all & the frame is remarkable. One both sides of the frame the pink & yellow enamel is gorgeous & without damage or loss of colour. The embossed enamel details on the frame are stylized flowers & Art Deco symbols. The patina is just delightful. All clasps & hinges work well. The kiss closure is decorated with pointed cabochon sapphires. I was delighted to find the original silk lining in place & it is without any damage at all. The lining is a subtle yellow which matches the yellow enamel on the frame.
This antique Dresden enamel mesh bag measures 7 " long X 4 " wide. The chain handle measures 6" tall.
This would make such an impressive gift & it will be presented in a luxurious bespoke gift box with a blank gift tag & historical fact sheets.
Ninety years old plus, very beautiful & in excellent condition.
