Antique Flame Mahogany Open Bookcase
This large & impressive antique mahogany open bookcase is of very high quality & in excellent condition. I would date this bookcase to around the 1840-60’s period. The flame mahogany veneers are stunning & have a vivid pattern running through. The top cornice has pronounced curved corners with a carved spiral moulding going down the sides to pronounced bottom corners on turned legs. This bookcase has adjustable shelves sitting on sharks tooth supports & there is a single drawer below with brass handles & a lock. It’s a very smart piece of antique furniture, full of character & has a very warm colour. I think you would be hard pushed to find a bookcase of similar proportions as nice as this one.
