Description:
This is a fine quality antique Art Deco pedestal dressing table, constructed from burr walnut, comprising nine drawers, including a secret compartment, with a central adjustable oval mirror, circa 1930, in excellent original condition. The Art Deco dressing table boasts its original cloud-shaped mirror which is in excellent condition. The mirror angle can be adjusted by extending the steel stay behind the mirror, which connected to the pedestal base. The mirror is supported by a pair of tenons that fit into the back of the dressing table. The mirror can be removed for safe transport or access in the house and up the stairs.
The Art Deco pedestal dressing table base incorporates a central sunken well, which when pulled forwards, reveals a secret drawer at the back of the dressing table - ideal for storing valuables, such as jewellery. The central well is flanked by two skyscraper shaped pedestals, each housing a smaller narrower bow-front drawer at the top, with three larger and wider bow-fronted drawers below. In the top right-and drawer is located an original manufacturers’ label, which reads “Guaranteed Handmade by British Craftsmen”. The drawer fronts retain the original solid brass Art Deco knobs and handle, and are constructed with hand-dovetailed mahogany drawer linings. The Art Deco pedestal dressing table is raised on a splayed plinth base.
The Art Deco pedestal dressing table, has been cleaned and then French polished by hand to a professional standard, therefore the finish, colour and patination is of an excellent standard.
This Art Deco pedestal dressing table, would look at home in any traditional or contemporary setting and consumes very little space. This piece boasts classic art deco styling in the overall design of the curved moulded frame, corners, clean lines to the tops, the handles and the plinth.

Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the burr-walnut frame but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The pedestal drawers close flush to the frame. The brass and figured mahogany handles are in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.

We offer free delivery to mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland (anywhere south of Stirling). We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
