This is an antique console table. A large, Scottish walnut and oak desk or hall table by J & T Scott of Edinburgh, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880.

Tapered legs of square sections and showing wisps of medullary rays
Stands upon a quartet of tapered block feet, further enhancing suitability for central room placement
