This is a beautiful antique Balouch carpet from the Persian Afghan Frontier with a bright and warm colour palette. The carpet dates from the late 19th century and has much charm and character. The indigo honeycomb lattice field of stylised flowers is enclosed by a very cheery, madder red deep border of stylised plants. The carpet is in good order, it retains its kelim ends and selvedges and has a good pile.
It measures 190 cms by 97 cms.
