This is a wonderful Arts & Crafts stool from Liberty & Co. This was a much copied design due to its popularity. The seat is covered in a Liberty's Ianthe patterned fabric which was designed around 1895-1900.

The stool seat can rise and fall due to a mechanism underneath the seat. The knob in the middle heart turns to enable the change in elevation via a Brooks Of London Rise and Fall Mechanism. It is stamped to the underside “Brooks Limited 9359".
