This is an Arts & Crafts Oak Scottish School bureau bookcase c1880-1900.  It is raised on short bracket feet wtih a pair of doors to which open to reveal a single shelf which is removable. Above this is a single drawer with pull out slide supports for the bureau flap.  Inisde the bureau are varying size pigeon holes.  To the upper section the doors are leaded and when opened reveal two shelves which are removable.  The upper top cornice is flat and wide with bracket supports following the influence of the Scottish School and the Glasgow four.  A great piece and a nice mellow colour.
