We have for sale the perfect gift for the collector of fine Derby porcelain, Pattern 224, derby plate c1796 derived from the Anthony Hoyte Collection.

This lovely Derby plate is decorated in a pattern consisting of a border within two gilt lines consisting of wide stripes of yellow inter-spaced with blue leaf sprays entwined about a central line around a white centre with 4 scattered gilt, yellow and blue sprigs. The back of the plate carries the puce Duesbury mark and pattern number 224 dating the plate to around 1796. The back of the plate also carries a collection label for Anthony Hoyte. Anthony Hoyte was a contemporary of John Twitchett and wrote the preface for John Twitchett's book Derby Porcelain, 1980.

The plate is approximately 9.4 inches (23.8cm)in diameter and is in a very good to excellent condition with only very light surface wear. This is a plate that has spent most of its 226 or so years of existence in a display cabinet.
